Geneviève Bourdy is an ethnopharmacologist at the IRD, who has worked in the South Pacific (Vanuatu, New Caledonia) and South America (Bolivia, French Guiana, Peru). She is now working in South East Asia (Cambodia and Laos), thus gaining a sound insight into traditional medicinal systems and their integration in the health system in these countries. She authored or co-authored 7 books describing traditional Amerindian pharmacopoeias, or dealing with ethnopharmacological issues. She also received, together with other colleagues, the first prize for innovation for the South, awarded by the IRD in 2013.
